The Corporate Dead End

Australian Conservation Foundation Report August 9,2023
Potent methane is leaking into our atmosphere from gas projects and coal mines across Australia. And mostly, it’s been happening undetected – until now.
The ACF team has led a specialist investigation into methane, to capture the widespread and previously invisible climate change impact of gas and coal production in Australia, with state-of-the-art technology.
At Santos, Origin and Jemena's polluting facilities, we used an Optical Gas Imaging camera – one of the first of its kind in Australia – to detect and capture footage of methane's infrared energy escaping from vents, pipelines and even into a river!
Above image is an example of what the OGI camera can reveal
ACF findings substantiate concerns that Australia's big emitters are apathetic when it comes to dangerous methane emissions that fuel climate change and extreme weather disasters.
We knew that Australia's big polluters had been poorly monitored, under reported, and not held to nearly a high-enough standard on their methane emissions. But we couldn’t make it visible until we led this joint field trip with global non-profit, Clean Air Task Force.
ACF investigation made the ‘invisible’ ‘visible’ and showed that fossil fuel projects across the country are leaking and venting this highly potent gas. While short-lived compared to carbon dioxide, methane is far more potent in immediately fueling global warming. So, reducing methane pollution is one of the quickest ways to slow climate change.
The field trip has demonstrated that Australia is at the back of the global pack when it comes to methane mitigation, with regulations too weak to stop companies releasing this potent gas freely from their facilities. Methane emissions are believed to account for about 30% of the global temperature rise since the industrial revolution and the fact is, we just don't know how much climate-heating methane is leaking from coal and gas in Australia. Under-reporting has been rife!

Changing a country's constitution to............... serve all fair ???
NOTICE: This Site Editor takes no sides in the heavily politicized Australian censorship debacle that divided the entire population in two equally numbered opposing sides. It is evident however that Sky News is a divisive pro corporate, pro US war machine, pro Zionist apartheid propaganda news "commentator" channel. If watching Sky News videos discretion is essential.
⬆︎ Non Aboriginal Uluru Statement
Australia has an approx 25,590,000 non Aboriginal population and an approx 849,000 Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander population. Aboriginal Australians are said to have come via South East Asia and inhabited Australia 50,000 years ago. The country was first colonized by the British Empire in 1788.
Australian aboriginal people are said to be the custodians, not the owners of the country. In truth, no one was given the right to "own" any piece of this Planet - anyone who has bought any real estate ever, is complicit in land theft. Australia has two sets of rules: 1): The Commonwealth of Australia Constitution of July 1900 and 2): The rules as applied by the Corporate State e.g. the corporate sector dictating government behavior, decision making and legislation writing and amending - the latter process creates (and has done so since time immemorial) a corrupted society from the corporate top down to the governing sector to the man/woman on the street. In the final analysis, the government is to be held responsible for the well being or otherwise, of a country's citizens. But no government in the world today, held to ransom by a handful of mega corporations, Australia included, has any remote concern for its constituents - constitutions are discarded, corruption and crime flourishes in all sections of society, and every day people become desensitized and alienated from being human. People have become addicts to the Hollywood Americanization of life on Earth, the Planet has become a westernized supermarkets comfort zone super bowl, tech savvy kids, tattooed for life, mobile gadget in hand 24/7, junk food obesity dominates the footpaths and homelessness, with the US setting the pace, is turning towns into somber ghettos while weapons are freely available for the corrupted military and citizens alike. The world never was a Utopia, but it has gone from livable to bad to worse and the legacy rests for the most part with incompetent government, corrupt politicians, unworkable constitutions and flawed systems, so called "democracy" included. When it comes to constitutional change, the entire human world needs a new constitution e.g. a good look at itself in a huge mirror. Peace is Better than War |

My comment on the video below after listening to the same 300 year old rhetoric coming from the mouths of American politicians and news reporters and commentators:
"I live in Australia. There never has been a US president/political party doing anything good for America, leave alone Australia, Europe, South Africa, South America, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, etc etc etc. Corporate US has left a trail of destruction around the world - history should be retold in all its ugly truth. Why am I even listening to this infinite USA rhetoric. Happy travel to a dead end folks. Logging off, leave Australia alone we're a country, not a USA corporation".
